I agree with most of these comments - I genuinely was looking forward to the end because it was so boring!
The writers are trying so hard to be up-to-date and relevant to modern society, they lose the classic Simpsons humour! Not that storylines just be random and without message, but the funniest episodes are the ones that are TIMELESS. You can still go watch an episode from one-digit-number seasons and you don't think "oh this looks and feels really out-of-date", you think "this is hilarious!"
