In the 20th Season,Four Women and a baby i think it was,was the 1st ever episode that Bart was not featured and also the 1st to show 4 tales instead of the usual 3.
20th season also contained the 2nd worst episode Ive seen.

The 21st season contains the worst episode ever in The devil wears Nada & also this particular show which bored me 6 minutes in to the show which is also a new record.

Not complaining ,still watch The Simpsons because of the wonderful shows they used to have,its a shame that 19th season on ,on this site almost all episodes have close to or over 1 mill views,while the classic episodes from the 1st 10 seasons have lesser than 200k views.people should watch the older episodes,and btw today I have completed my yearlong goal of watching each and every episode of The Simpsons,Ive seen them all.Haw-Haw.

I don't think the problem is that we are getting older.
At 28 I still try to squeeze in an episode at least once a day, but hardly every wonder past Season 16.

The problem is a conflict of quality and quantity.
In the newer episodes there is basically no frame that has not hidden joke somewhere and every sentence is either a run-up to a joke or a joke itself.
In the older episodes there were maybe 10-12 jokes in the entire 20min.
For the younger generation this is not enough anymore. As with most things today, quantity is more important than quality.
I feel this development in the case of The Simpsons is really a shame, but I am sure the producers know what they are doing. They are moving with the flow.
