Bart steals a "Bart Boulevard" traffic sign, which leads to a major traffic accident, but the new Safety Salamander (Homer's attempt to earn Lisa's love back after he ruins her Father's Day present) saves everybody. When everybody blames Mayor Quimby, the town calls for a recall election, and Homer decides to run for mayor, along with pretty much everybody else in town (just like the time 135 people ran for Governor of California when Gray Davis was being recalled in 2003).

First of all - Yes, Bush did make few mistakes - especially Iraq.
Secondary - it's not Bush who screwed up the economy - Obama is the one who gave managers thousands of dollars, talking he won't be socialist in the same day.
And third: McCain isn't and idiot, but is american national hero, who survived a war. Man who survived a war and said nothing to vietcong, did a patriotic effort will be always worth much more than greenhorn who never took a look at history book, and never did effort to help european nations be free and his own nation be safe.
