I think people make too much of a fuss over animal testing. You can test products in the lab to some extent, but at the end of the day you need to know what effects they have on living tissue - and if you don't use animal, what's the alternative? Use people?
I agree some methods are barbaric, but I don't think we can do without animal testing altogether.
