Another very dark early episode. Maybe the darkest episode in the whole series. There's more marital discord for the parents and a genuine danger to the children. I wonder if the first season's producers were really going out of their way to emphasize that this isn't a children's cartoon.
Even with the darkness, and the poorer quality animation, not a bad episode at all. Marge is at her scariest but she actually serves a useful function. Even maggie is a little action heroine for a while. And Homer is hilarious at the end. Where did that hair on his chest come from? Lovemaking? I love how when cameras and microphones are put in front of him that he tries to improvise a heroic story for himself and fucks it up so bad. Local boob indeed.
4/5 stars. Nightmare fuel aplenty. But you know its a comedy because it is yet another episode that ends with Homer and Marge snuggling. Seriously there were three or four episodes this seasont that ended with that same scene of them in bed reconciling the plot and turning out the light.
